NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES
RANKING:OAU TOPS THE LIST
The Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi
Awolowo University, Ile-Ife,
Professor Michael Faborode, has
expressed his satisfaction on the
recent publication by
WEBOMETRICS, an international
organization
known for its accurate assessment
and ranking of standard of
education in each of the
Universities in the world, which
ranked Obafemi Awolowo
University, Ile-Ife as the BEST/FIRST
among Nigerian Universities.
Professor Faborode who could not
hide his happiness said that
Obafemi Awolowo University under
his administration, would continue
to maintain the lead, calling on all
stakeholders to join hands with him
to take Obafemi Awolowo
University to a greater heights.
It will be recalled that the
WEBOMETRICS team, which
comprises experts in all academic
disciplines, recently embarked on
assessment of African Universities
with a view to knowing the top 100
Universities in the continent, and
the quality of their graduates.
At the end of the ranking exercise,
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-
Ife, came 44th, University of
Ibadan ranked 65th, University of
Benin, 79th, while University of
Lagos came 96th.
With this continental ranking,
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-
Ife, becomes the first and the best
in Nigeria.
