www.unilag.edu.ng - Unilag University of Lagos - About this university




When the university of lagos was founded in 1962, only 131 students where
registered on various course of study but as of today, this institution enrollment
as grown over 39,000.

The University is comprised of nine Faculties and a College of Medicine. The Faculties
offer a total of 117 programmes in Arts, Social Sciences, Environmental Sciences,
Pharmacy, Law, Engineering, Sciences, Business Administration and Education.
UNILAG, as the university is fondly called also offers Master’s and Doctorate
degrees in most of the aforementioned programmes. The University also has two
Centres namely the Centre for Human Rights and the Centre for African, Regional
Integration and Borderland Studies. The Distance Learning Institute (DLI) of the
University offers courses in Accounting, Business Administration, Science Education
and Library / Information Sciences.

Unilag became Nigeria's first university to set-up its own radio station UNILAG 103.1 FM.
The sole reason behind this set-up is to serve as a testing center or practice lab for
Mass communication students and it's like and also as means by which messages can be
passed to both students and non students of the institution.

Unilag is one institution which most Nigerian students which to be admitted into but
due to Nigeria's system of education, only the RICH AND CONNECTED students makes it
gets admitted. When it comes to Unilag, this popular saying among Nigerian student
"IT IS THE PERSON WHO KNOWS THE WAY THAT IS TRUELY BRILIANT AND NOT THAT
WHICH PASS WELL"

Unilag is a no nonsense institution and so if you wish to gain admission into this institution,
you must be ready to read and pass your exams well.
